Aug 8 ~ Urban Sketching with Shruti Vijay
We are so excited to welcome back local sketch artist, Shruti Vijay. Her January urban sketching class was such a hit, I simply had to offer it up again!
This time we will also be incorporating the out of doors (weather permitting) so bring along a lawn chair! Urban sketching is a really wonderful way to capture life's moments.
Shruti promises that you do not have to consider yourself an artist in order to learn and love this form of creative outlet. If urban sketching is something you've been intrigued by, but maybe weren't sure where to start, then I encourage you to come and give it a go at this half-day workshop.
$99 includes all materials, supplies, instruction and light snacks. In this course you will also receive your own sketchbook and pens to use and take home, plus you'll also get the chance to try out different kinds of watercolors to bring your sketches to life.
Workshop held at 1129 Florence Ave in Evanston with plenty of free neighborhood parking.
Saturday Aug 8, 1-4pm
Some featured photos are works done by students of the January class!
Urban sketching helps me to observe and capture the beauty of the surroundings around me and helps me maintain my art journal of my travels and day to day life.
From this workshop the students will be inspired by and find beauty in the simple things in day to day life. Students will become inspired to set pen to paper and capture their own vistas. The wonderful thing about urban sketching and maintaining a private art journal is that anyone can learn how to really see what's in front of them. Students will sketch it in a way that captures what they perceive in front of them. This session will definitely take the participants on a wonderful trip of imagination and help to develop an everyday practice of sketching and maintaining their very own art journal.
