I have long admired this local artist and now I'm so thrilled to offer this class with Angela Lyonsmith. Bowls, textiles, colors.... does it get any better???
In this season of gratitude and setting the stage for family and friends to spend meaningful time together, come and spend an afternoon making a unique bowl for your table. We will explore this traditional craft which takes a twist on basketry and ceramic construction employing fabrics and fibers of all sorts. All materials will be provided but please feel free to bring significant fabrics or yarn that may hold special meaning in colors that especially appeal to you.

We have free neighborhood parking all along Florence, Crain and Greenleaf.
Please arrive between 12:30 and 12:45 so you have time to grab your spot and get settled in. We'll begin promptly at 1pm.
Angela Lyonsmith, ATR-BC, LCPC is an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Graduate Art Therapy program at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
Angela has worked in the field of art therapy for nearly two decades with very young children through older adults working in non-profit, social enterprise and for-profit models. Most recently, she was the owner and energy behind the development of Gather, a community art studio and creativity focused playspace, in Evanston.
She has been published in Art Therapy: Journal of the American Art Therapy Association and The Arts in Psychotherapy. Angela also works with Global Alliance for Africa in the development of therapeutic arts programming. Her current art practice is focused on the exploration of metaphors from the natural world and slow craft as activism.
