More About the Artists:
Lisa Baker is an Abstract Artist from Kansas City, Missouri. Her background is an eclectic mixture of bright color, whimsical mark making and layered shapes. Lisa explains that her roots come from a start in scrapbooking, Mixed Media Art Journaling and various paper crafts. She works most often with Acrylic paint, pastel crayons, watercolor , charcoal marks and ink on canvas and paper. She often tells people that “painting clears my head and acts as joy therapy to renew the mind —remarking there’s a certain feeling of clarity that often people experience when gazing at a painting that speaks to them”. Lisa’s work has been described as happy, kind, joyful, and “eye candy”. Sharing her art is her passion and seeing others find that passion is a dream come true.
Theresa Benavidez is a mixed media artist. Her work is non-representational layers of vibrant color and mark making. When asked about her current series, Benavidez states, ‘My paintings are my way of communicating my life experiences. I used a colorful palette of acrylic paint, ink, oil pastel, chalk and graphite on paper and canvas. Painting is my meditation; it fills my heart with joy. Nothing makes me happier than to share my work with others.’
